The Living Room.....

What is a home? It is a place of refuge from the world,
a place to enjoy family and friends, a place to
build memories!
This is my home.
It has been a labor of love to create my home!
Some of the pictures may seem pretty stark....
I still haven't hung art work in most of the rooms
and other rooms are still waiting for window treatments,
but in good time it will all come together....
I'll be patient!

The Dining Room.....

I love my dining room....and I love having everyone
around the table
for dinner and conversation!

The kitchen...

Don't tell my mom that I put pictures of a dirty kitchen on my blog....
Oh well....a kitchen is meant to be 'used' isn't it.
This is one room I wish I could completely remodel...
knock out the wall between the kitchen and dining room
and add counters and cabinets to the other wall...
I really need more counter space...cuz' this is it!!!

Our Bedroom.....

Our bedroom is just pretty simple...but the cool thing is the new flooring in the bathroom..it's that self-sticking tile...I did it myself...and it makes such a difference. Oh, and do you like the toilet tank sitting on the floor...well Bob is fixing our toilet...

My Sewing Room....

Pictures don't capture my dream for this room...I plan on making cute rosy-pink paisley valances for the windows and a slip cover for the sewing chair.
I've got a little table in there so that if grandkids are here and I want to sew,
they can draw and color and keep themselves busy.

The Guest Room.....

This used to be Ashley and Courtney's room....then just Courtney's room and now a guest room....aww...it's sad no one lives here! So if you come visit this is where you will stay...

The basement...

Every surface was replaced...we dry-walled, put a new ceiling in, had a bookcase built in, had tile layed in two areas, new windows and light fixtures. I haven't decided on furniture and window treatments, but we still enjoy the space....just throw pillows around
and hang out!

He has hit a "HOMERUN".....

Okay, so he didn't pick Mitt Romney!
Today as I listened to the announcement that
Governor Sarah Palin
would be the VP nominee
I actually had a sense of peace and calm rush over me!
Sarah Palin seems to be a genuine person,
Someone who I would want as a friend,
Someone who has a backbone,
Someone who will stand for what is right,
Someone with her heart and values squarely in the right place.
With that said,
I will be casting my vote in November for
John McCain & Sarah Palin!
Way to go!!!!!!

Where I stand....

About two months ago I finally removed my "W'04" bumper sticker from the back of my car...I was sad...afterall, I had passionately displayed signs in my yard for all the republican canidates and still have my George W. Bush sign somewhere in my laundry room. I still like Bush although he has made some mistakes. I'm an avid listener of Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, Laura Ingraham, etc....and I love Ronald Reagan.....so what does this make me.....a true "conservative"...and a loyal Republican.....as Sean Hannity would say.... a "Reagan Conservative."

Now for current politics...I like John McCain, but I really don't agree with his positions on many issues. Back in the primaries I was backing Mitt Romney and talking to everyone I could about voting for him....and maybe...just maybe...he might be the running mate for McCain. We will find that out next week! But one thing I do know for certain.....I don't like Bararck Obama...nor do I want him for our nation's president....I don't want him anywhere near the White House! So you will now understand why I've put a new bumper sticker on my car!
Even if you don't agree with everything McCain stands for.....he is still head-and-shoulders above Obama....please join me on the "STOP Obama Express".....

Fun times with Nate and Lily.....

Friday night Beth and I took the kids to this awesome place here in town. The whole thing is geared to pre-schoolers and activities for them.
Nathan totally got into painting and drawing on his face.
Beth decorated Lily's!
Can't you just see how much fun this was to a 2 year old?

Now dream for yourself....
why can't we just be happy with
ourselves...
whether we're perfect or not,
whether we have stuff
all over our faces,
or whatever...

Wouldn't we all just be happier if
we enjoyed our lives
and accepted who we are?
Little kids just don't care what
anyone thinks...they just
smile and walk around
in front of the world...
with their own art on their faces.
Now that's confidence!

Peter Cetera....live....

I had the most amazing time at the Free Friday Night Concert. Tonight was Peter Cetera in person. I've always loved his music when he was with Chicago and saw the group live two different times. It was fun to sit back under the stars and hear all of his hits once again. It was a perfect night for a concert. I can't wait until I go to the next one!
